Food Producers
How farmers, winemakers and breweries can tell visitors and buyers what they make and how to visit, using a free website.
Australia has a proud tradition of growers and makers who work far from the city, in vineyards, orchards and small breweries, and who rely on visitors and wholesale buyers finding them. A simple website is the easiest way to be discovered. It tells a person searching for a weekend outing, or a restaurant looking for a local supplier, exactly what a producer makes and how to reach it.
Each of the three sub-businesses has its own conversation with the public. Farmers are asked about what is in season, farm gate sales and whether a regular box can be arranged. Winemakers are asked about cellar door hours, tastings and whether bottles can be posted. Breweries are asked about the taproom, the beers currently pouring and whether visitors can bring friends or a group. These answers change slowly, so one short page serves for months.
A free website also helps a producer appear established to shops and restaurants considering a new supplier. The articles in this collection show how to describe a product honestly, set out visiting details clearly and avoid exaggeration that a visitor might later find hard to match.
